I'm not a fan at all of the US version of "Ugly Betty", and to be honest, it took me a while to "get" the original version (From Colombia).
I've just spotted this article on the BBC news website, about the original series, written when it was first aired.

I hate the Americanized version
too. It's even worse than the
LaFemme Nikita Hollywood version.
I have been looking for an English
subtitled DVD for this show.
Anyone know where to find it??
As far as I know, "Betty la Fea" was never released on DVD.
It would have to be a box set, as it ran for quite a while.
